JayDay

For parents

Everything a parent needs before their child starts: what happens each day, what it costs (nothing), and exactly what we do and do not store.

How it works

You set your child up once: the country and province or state you moved to, their school grade, the language you speak at home, and a few things they love. It takes about two minutes and needs no account.

After that, your child opens JayDay and starts today's mission. A session is short on purpose — around 30 minutes a day, broken into small wins, with a friendly guide who explains everything in your home language while the English being learned stays in English.

The tutor adapts. Questions your child finds hard come back sooner; skills they have mastered step aside. Stars, streaks and Feathers keep motivation up, and Feathers can only be earned — never bought.

What it teaches

English (listening, reading, speaking and writing) plus the child's new school curriculum — maths, language and science — mapped to real provincial and state standards. There is also a "my new country" strand: the everyday words and situations of a new school, a new bus route, a new winter.

Is it really free?

Yes. No cost, no credit card, no trial that expires, no ads, no upsells. JayDay is a charitable give-back project for newcomer children, supported by donors and sponsors rather than by families.

Privacy, in plain words

Your child's learning data — answers, stars, streaks, progress, anything they build — is stored in this device's own browser storage. It is not uploaded to us, and we cannot see it.

Children never create an account. The only thing ever stored on a server is a parent's email address, and only if a parent chooses to sign in. Nothing is ever sold, rented or shared with advertisers. You can delete everything from the Parent Zone at any time.

What you control

The Parent Zone sits behind an adult gate. There you can set daily time and pace, approve new subjects, read a plain-language progress insight, export a backup code, or delete a profile from the device completely.
