Terms of Service
Plain-language terms for a free app. Nothing here costs money, and nothing here asks for your child's personal information.
1. Accepting these terms
By using JayDay you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the app. A parent or guardian accepts these terms on behalf of any child who uses JayDay.
2. The service is free
JayDay is provided free of charge as a charitable give-back project. There are no fees, no ads and no in-app purchases. Feathers and other in-app rewards have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold or exchanged, and may be changed or reset at any time.
3. Children and accounts
Children do not create accounts. A parent or guardian sets up each learner profile, supervises use, and is responsible for the device the app runs on. An optional parent sign-in uses only an email address.
4. Acceptable use
Use JayDay for learning. Do not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or misuse the service, and do not use it to harm anyone. We may restrict access where use is abusive or unlawful.
5. Learning content
Lessons are mapped to public curriculum standards and are offered for practice and support. JayDay is not a school, is not affiliated with any ministry or school board, and does not replace formal education, assessment or professional advice.
6. Your data
Learning data is stored on your device, so it is yours to keep. If the browser data is cleared, the device is lost, or the profile is deleted, that progress cannot be recovered by us. Export a backup code from the Parent Zone if it matters to you. Our handling of data is described on the Privacy page.
7. No warranty
JayDay is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it working and accurate, but we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, JayDay and its volunteers are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or inability to use, the service — including lost learning progress.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as JayDay grows. The current version always lives on this page; continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms.
