Learning data stays on this device
Stars, streaks, answers, Feathers and anything your child builds are stored in this device's browser (IndexedDB). They are never uploaded to us.
No accounts for children
Children never sign up. We ask for no email, no phone number, no real name and no photos. A nickname you choose stays on the device.
No ads, no third-party trackers
There are no ads, no in-app purchases, no analytics SDKs, no advertising IDs and no profiling. Nothing about your child is sold or shared.
What the internet is used for
Only to download the app itself and read-only lesson content (curriculum packs). Nothing about your child is sent back. The learning loop keeps working with no connection at all.
Sharing results is always a deliberate tap
The “Send my results to Tim” button opens WhatsApp with a short summary you can read before you press send. Nothing is ever sent automatically, and the message contains only a progress summary — no personal details.
The Parent Zone is gated
Settings, subject approvals, backup codes and the share number sit behind an adult gate, with an optional PIN.
You can delete everything, instantly
In the Parent Zone you can export a backup code or remove a profile from the device. Because the data lives only here, deleting it here deletes it everywhere.
Aligned with children's privacy law
JayDay follows the spirit of COPPA (US) and PIPEDA (Canada) by collecting no personal information from children at all. Because there is no collection, there is no sharing, no retention schedule and no data to breach. Control stays with the parent, on the device.
COPPA (USA, children under 13)
COPPA requires verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from a child under 13. JayDay avoids the issue at the source: we collect no personal information from children — no name, email, phone number, photo, voice upload, location or persistent advertising identifier. There is no behavioural advertising, no third-party tracking SDK and no child data on our servers, so there is nothing for us to disclose, retain or hand to anyone else.
PIPEDA (Canada)
Under PIPEDA we apply the principles of minimal collection, identified purpose, consent, limited use and retention, and individual access. In practice: learning data is collected only on your device for the sole purpose of teaching your child, it is never used for any secondary purpose, and a parent can view, export or permanently delete it at any time from the Parent Zone. There is no cross-border transfer of a child's learning data because it never leaves the device.
The only thing stored on a server
If — and only if — a parent chooses to sign in, we store that parent's email address so the sign-in works. That is the only server-stored data in JayDay. No child learning data, no answers, no progress and no device identifiers are stored with it. It is never sold, rented, shared for marketing or used to profile anyone, and you can ask us to delete it at any time through the Contact page.
